What is Wrong with Vista

Your XP machine breaks down, oh no, its time for a new computer. You pack up and head to your local Futureshop, or Staples or Best Buy, whatever I don't care and you gander at the new pc systems. Being a sales representative I know how people shop for computers. They come in and they look, they ask questions and the most common question they ask is, what operating system does it have, even though they are not exactly sure what an OS even is. The moment I finish saying "Vista" they stop me and say, "I have heard Vista has had problems" or "I'v heard Vista is no good." Of course I'm a salesman and can't fully agree with that statement when really its true, but heres a run down of why its bad and at the same time why it isn't as bad as people think it is. (You can agree or disagree I really don't care.)

Vista has a hard time running hardware. Good luck running that printer you bought a year or two ago. Unless you can find the updated drivers online, you'll need a new printer.

Vista was marketed as the 'safe os' when really its all show. Instead what we got was a lot of 'ALLOW' or 'CANCEL' options that seem to appear for the most common operations.

Sure it looks great, but it takes a lot of make up to make something look nice. Don't go buying a cheap Compaq desktop just because of the price, because with Vista on that, 512mb or even 1gb of ram won't cut the cake.

Vista doesn't seem to like software, even if its designed for Vista. Good call on that improvement.

Many people bought Vista for their old machines even though the people at Microsoft said, Don't buy it for old machines and then bitched about it. (These account for about 50% of the people who complain about Vista mind you.)

Now its good to note that even XP had its problems when it was released and required 2 service packs before it was really ready. Vista service pack 1 has just been released so hopefully some of the kinks have been laid out.

For now, if you need to buy a new computer, bite the bullet and get Vista, just make sure your buying a good desktop and not one that can barely run Vista. (Trust me I know)

yeah xp was safe when it first came out... there all safe at first... its only cuz no viruses know how to hack vista yet... till some hacker gets ahold of it and says AHH thats how they made this one
now suddenly all the viruses know how to get in and do some damage.
the allow or cancel is gunna be a piece of cake to get around and someone will figure it out.

I'm not sure either, i can't confirm or deny that, but i would...'doubt' it as long as their making money, which they are, they don't need to drop Vista yet.
