It is something that sits at the forefront of everyones mind when buying technology. Who built this? Do they specialize in making these devices?
You get what you pay for works for most situations, so make sure when your buying technology, you carefully look at the specs, and the investigate the reputation of the company your giving money too.

There are several factors to look at when judging the reputation of a company.
- Warranty?
- Troubleshooting and Support?
- The main location of the company?
- Do they use generic parts?
- What do other people say about them?
- Have they been around long?
- How long does it take to get replacement parts? Do they even offer replacement parts?
- Many recalls?

Before you buy, read reviews on products and also check websites such as CNET and NerveSocket.com (thats us) for reviews on products from experts and consumers. There is nothing worse then buying an mp3 player or camera, and bring it home, reading a review only to find out its known to have serious problems after a month of use.

You want to try and avoid rebates the company offers as well, usually they take a long period of time to deliver, or won't at all.

ya ill agree with that... usually done by making ppl feel like they are getting a good deal or that the companies doing the person a favor or that they are going the extra mile for them and doing everything they can... making them feel important and never ignored... anything to alleviate the impression the cost of your services will leave on them...
most consumers dont care about the details of what you are doing or how you are doing it they just want the service and assurance that they arnt getting ripped off and that the service will remain there for them if they need it again or simply further service for the same incident

Most stores (especially technology ones) are horrendously immoral in their selling techniques. I've seen idiotic salespeople tricking the elderly into buying expensive technology they don't need. Disgusting, and most of the time they're not even on commission. My question is: whats the poin't of selling more if you're not on commission? To help an immoral entity? Hardly makes sense to me, but then again, I don't care really for capitalism as a system. Pity communism sucks so hard.

yes not being on commission would make me expect someone would only try to sell me what i need or something that i want... guid me in an understandable manor not just make me buy products for the store i work at... it was bad enough having brian and tim trying to get me to buy ESPs cuz they get A PAT ON THE BACK for it... not even like a pay raise... and when they dont sell warenties they just get the speach about how they need to sell more haha
