BlackBerry PlayBook becomes the #1 selling tablet at Future Shop and Best Buy

There’s no doubt people have noticed RIM a little more with OS 2.0 on their PlayBook and a few of the big events they have held like the job fair earlier this month and Mobile World Congress. They have also started hitting it hard with new TV ads and even started implementing the PlayBook in the classroom. I think this could really help push the PlayBook on the app front. As it stands, apple has great library of education apps and assistive technology apps for those with learning disabilities. Though the PlayBook appworld has an education category, there isn’t much to offer yet.

TAT which is now part of RIM has been coming out with some very impressive apps lately, but sadly the only app that’s made it to appworld is their scrapbook app. Though its great to show off the power and flexibility of the PlayBook, I think everyone can agree it would be awesome to see ANY of these types of apps hit the market. In my opinion the biggest relief is seeing more free apps. Apple charges $100/year to have a developers account and yet they end up with thousands of free apps. I hope to see the same for the PlayBook
